Born in West Germany 1949,Educated in Germany, Journeyman for the cabinetmaker trade. Graduated 1969. State School of Engineering, Rosenheim. Diploma received 1973. Languages - German, English, and French.

Career History

1973 - 1979
Danzer Group in Germany, Africa and Canada.
Worked in the Veneer Company in all phases of production.

1979 - 1981
Fairfield Veneer Mill, Fairfield Ohio. General Manager.
Responsible for planing engineering and all operations involved in running a hardwood slicing veneer mill.

1981 - 1982
Roti Wood Products, Fergus, Ontario. General Manager.
Responsible for all operations involved in running a plywood mill and veneer operation.

1982 - 1984
Wilberforce Veneer and Lumber Company, Wilberforce, Ontario.
General Manager. Responsible for all phases of running a rotary hardwood veneer mill, specialty plywood operation, forestry operations, timber acquisition, negotiation of collective agreement, etc.

1984 -1985
Panill Veneer, Kitchener, Ontario. Technical Director. Responsible for all technical aspects relating to slicing hardwood veneer.

1986 - 1988
Nioki, Zaire, Africa. Forescom - Canadian International Development Agency. Consultant. Responsible for setting up new hardwood veneer slicing operation. Operating a peeling and plywood mill. Acting as Director Of Operations for entire project, approx. 1200 employees, timber operation ,fleet, sawmill, power generating, peeling mill, plywood mill, slicing veneer mill.

1988 - 1990
Penn Beaver Veneer Corporation, Darlington, Pennsylvania. Project manager, slicing mill. Responsible for planning of manufacturing facilities, choice of machinery and purchase negotiations, construction supervision, hiring and training of personnel, start - up of operations, supervision, streamlining and organization of all production phases.

1990 - 1992
Mannington Wood Floors, Port Epes, Alabama, USA. Project Manager. Responsible for construction of new high tech rotary veneer mill and chip mill. Acting as general contractor and on site engineer for owners.

1993 - 1998
Joined the Veneer Consulting Group as Associate. During that time worked on various projects like 3S International, Moscow, Russia for aprox. One year to construct, start - up and train personal in lumber slicing operation. Assistant General Manager in Beech slicing mill in Hungary aprox. 8 months. Make study for the Government of British Columbia on the marketability of thick softwood veneer. Start - up of Forwest Veneer a hardwood and softwood veneer slicing mill in British Columbia. Installation, start up and training of personal for splicing department, Mill’s Pride, Waverly, Ohio. Technical advisers for insurance underwriter on extend of damage and repair of veneer equipment. Start up of lumber slicing veneer mill and training of personal for Tenneco Romania. Various installations of veneer and splicing equipment.
